 Our book group will review the book "The Chosen" on December 7th at JoAnn's house, 6 pm. Meal will be baked potatoes. Bring your favorite toppings or a side to share. You are welcome to join the group even if you haven't read the book and there is still a copy available in the church office.
 Please plan to join your friends from First Lutheran and Elim Lutheran on Tuesday, November 23, for a Thanksgiving Eve Eve service. The service will be held at 7 pm at Elim Lutheran, 5911 E Hillcrest Dr, Port Orchard, WA 98366. The full worship service with communion will include a variety of music and a good word shared by Jeff Faucett, a retired South Kitsap fire chief. You are also invited to bring a donation of nonperishable food. There will be Covid-safe refreshments after the service. Questions? Tuesday, November 2 at 6 pm is the book club discussion at JoAnn's house. We have two books available for pick up in the church office for Reading Faith Into It. The first we will read and discuss is Light of the World by Elizabeth Alexander. Second book will be The Chosen by Chaim Potok and will be reviewed a few weeks later.  We are looking forward to hosting another successful trunk or treat at Spirit of Life on Saturday, Oct. 30. So far we have 13 trunks and we would love more! If you would like to host a trunk, please sign up in the binder in the church office or give the office a call, 360 876 5094. As was the case last year, we're going to do our best to maintain social distancing to keep everyone safe. If you're going to host a trunk, please consider devising a treat delivery method. Ideas have included a length of PVC pipe, a kiddie fishing pole, even a long handled spoon or small shovel could work.
 Our study of the book of Jonah continues after worship, and you are invited to join. We started the study on October 10th with a great discussion led by Trevor Boe about the overall book and story Jonah and contemplated some history and relationships. It was a rich and interesting conversation. You can join in-person at church or online (Zoom). If you would like to review the material we'll be using, it can be found here.
